Coffee, Tea, and Me

I love my daily coffee intake.  Now, I am a very good girl, and I limit myself to decaf, since it doesn’t take much to get me wired. At L it has the most amazing aroma and consistency; so delightful that I considerate it a luscious dessert.  This summer I am enjoying it over ice…hmm, I could go for a tall glass of iced decaf cappuccino right about now.  The homemade biscotti always served as a compliment to the coffee is filled with the most yummy dried cranberries and nuts.  I enjoy stopping by in L’s cozy bar in the latter part of the afternoon, and savoring that heavenly drink and time for myself.  There are always plenty of friendly patrons and staff if you desire some interesting conversation, with lovely and soothing background music.  No, you won’t find crying babies or knock into toddlers handling all of the food items on display, or have to wait in line, scream out your order, or hunt down a table with a seat; you need to go to your local fast-coffee joint for that kind of stimulation.  So why don’t you consider breaking out of your daily grind, and head over to L to enjoy some peace and tranquility over your coffee, and luxuriate in its perfection.  And don’t forget to say hello to me when you’re there!

Birthday indulgences!!

Celebrated my b-day at lunch, admittedly leading into dinner, on Friday with 3 of my best gal-pals (#4 you know who you are!). So happy to be able to pick my FAVE spot for the celebration…you know, of course, it’s Restaurant L! Went for one of the pre-fix 3 course lunch specials at $12.95, since my girls were already buying me several “Quincy pours” (read GENEROUS) of my favorite Peju Sauvignon Blanc. I began my feast with the most delicious, savory lentil soup ever, and followed it with pulled pork and frizzled onions on a ciabatta roll, and L’s crispy fries.  We went ALL out and decided to get a special dessert, which was TO DIE FOR!! How about a homemade blondie topped with a slice of cheesecake, caramel sauce, and oreo cookie pieces, with dulce de leche gelato on the side??? It was heaven. Oh, and a candle and birthday song sung by L’s beautiful server Tammy (who sings professionally…it sure beats the  voices of the disinterested waiters at those huge eating factories up and down Routes 17 &4!). So, yes, I admit we indulged a bit, but hey, it was my birthday!    XO Gayle

I am so excited to be the “official blogger” for Restaurant L.  I promise to let you in on all the secret goings-on there, and make you smile with the entertaining, fun tidbits of info that I discover!

There were over 45 very happy women in the bar area this past Wednesday evening, enjoying a delightful Ladies’ Night from 6 p.m. and on, into the wee hours of the night.  Why were they so happy, you ask?  They had escaped from the heat of their kitchens to sweetly sip on frothy cold, very pink drinks (half-price all night, of course, for the gals!), indulge in yummy appetizers, and rock out to DJ Dave’s music; it was awesome!  All music requests honored!  Yes, and you heard it correctly through the grapevine…the ladies were dancing in and around their seats, singing along….such sweet abandon!  The two most popular drinks of the evening…can you guess?  The blueberry mojitos, and the pomegranate cosmopolitans were absolutely delish, and besides, the girls were getting their daily dose of those important antioxidants that we all need.  Now what were YOU doing Wednesday night?  I know one thing…I’ll be there this Wednesday…  🙂         XO  Gayle
